([lang id =1028]迦陵伽) (sa) kalaviṅka. A bird described as having a melodious voice, found in the valleys of the Himalayas. M.W. says 'a sparrow'. It may be the (sa) kalandaka, or (sa) kokila, the cuckoo. It 'sings in the shell' before hatching out. Other forms are [lang id =1028]迦陵頻伽鳥, [lang id =1028]迦蘭伽 (or [lang id =1028]迦蘭頻伽 or [lang id =1028]迦毘伽 or[lang id =1028]迦毘頻伽); [lang id =1028]迦毘伽 (or [lang id =1028]迦毘伽羅); [lang id =1028]迦尾羅; [lang id =1028]羯羅尾羅; [lang id =1028]羯毘伽羅 (or [lang id =1028]鶡鵯伽羅), etc.
